The word possible means being able or fitted to do or become what you want to do or become regardless of challenges you may face. While traveling on my journey, I often have to remind myself of the meaning of this word, especially when naysayers I meet along the way continue to reiterate that I shouldn’t or I can’t.
As I travel on my life journey, I always carry the belief with me that if I believe in myself and am willing to do the necessary work, It is possible for me to do whatever I want to do and become what I want to become. When I believe in myself, it means I have listened to a voice that resides within letting me know what I want is possible. And, if I’m willing to do the work that means I have made a committed decision to move forward with determination toward my goal.
Many friends and family, throughout my lifetime, have told me more than once, how often they have watched me in disbelief, as I accomplished my goals despite challenges and my limited resources. Eventually, they grew to accept when I said I was going to do something, I was going to go above and beyond to get it done.
Allow me to share five secrets on how the Voice of Possibility helped me and can help you.
- Rely on a Higher Power for direction
- Believe in yourself and your DREAM enough to risk moving forward
- Just get started. “You don’t have to be good to start, but you must start to be good”
- Automatically Attract people to help you because of your strong belief and determination
- Seek the assistance of a mentor or coach to help guide you when you face difficult cross roads.
Listen to your voice of possibility!!
I’ve been traveling on a journey called “Charlotte’s life” for 70+ years. I now have full understanding of Who I am and What I am. Who I am is a woman of faith, strength and belief that I still have work to do in order to complete the assignment given to me by God before I depart this earth. My purpose has not yet been fulfilled although I’m traveling closer to my destiny each day because I have decided to do so. Deciding is such a major step!
What I am is a woman who have learned many life lessons, gained valuable wisdom while traveling on my journey and now feel the need to share with younger women how to navigate around the pot holes, the unexpected curves and how to enjoy beautiful landscapes along the highway.
In addition, I am an inspiring speaker and most effective life coach soon to be known as the “Dream Diva”. Imagine that! The tag line, cruise diva, was given to me by a radio station when I was a travel agent and sold cruises. The name stuck and helped brand me as one who sold great custom cruise vacations; so for the last chapter of my life, speaker and life coach, I decided to keep the diva and add the dream because I believe everybody has a Dream that can become a reality despite the challenges of life and regardless of age. I am the Dream Diva, the Speaker, Author and Dream Coach who can help you discover, develop and become your Unfulfilled DREAM.
My journey, like most other women, has included school, college, marriage, children, divorce, struggles, jobs, dreams and visions for my future. It has included happiness, sadness, joy, heart- ache and loss of loved ones, failures, disappointments successes and worship – all part of the journey. As I traveled on my life highway, I began to grow, discovered answers to some of the mysteries of life and learned more about who I was and what I truly wanted to do with my life during my latter years. I worked and retired from United Airlines for 22 years. I owned and managed a travel agency for 20 years and I was the founding president of a very successful national travel association for 12 years. Little did I know early on, that each of these areas of work was gradually preparing me for a successful future once I was ready to say “yes” to the new me.
As I began to grow while on my journey, I recognized there was a part of me that was yet to be developed and shared with the world. All of us have something special residing within us that’s waiting to be discovered and developed. Typically the yearning within is labeled a life calling or a life dream that’s meant to be shared with others. Some realize this inner calling earlier than others but, most often, don’t accept it until later in life, especially women. Many allow other people, the fear of uncertainty and obligations to others keep them from making their dreams a reality. I recognized my dream when I was a young adult, but allowed the opinion of someone else, who thought I could never become my dream, stop me from moving forward.
My goal is to help others avoid making the mistakes I made while traveling on my life highway and experience the fruition of your own dream when you are ready to do so. It is possible, you know.
